About HAVEN Emergency Shelter


HAVEN’S emergency shelter provides short-term housing for survivors of intimate partner violence and or sexual assault and their children. HAVEN’s residential area consists of common areas including two family areas, a meditation room, a children’s play area, dining room, kitchen and 16 bedrooms.  A secure outdoor playground is also available to survivors.

Access to the Shelter is initiated by contacting the Crisis and Support Line at 248-334-1274 or 877-922-1274.

HAVEN’S Crisis and Support line accepts incoming calls 24 hours per day and screens applicants in order to provide the most appropriate guidance and services.

Case managers and HAVEN’s social action team work closely with residents providing safety planning and advocacy through empowering, educating and supporting survivors to achieve their personal goals.
The shelter provides a safe haven for survivors of all genders and orientations.
Shelter residents have access to food, personal needs items, computers, television, laundry facilities, advocacy and resources 24 hours per day.
The shelter provides a youth program led by a child development specialist providing assistance with school enrollment and activities for all ages.
Residents are offered other HAVEN services such as counseling, PPO assistance, legal advocacy, employment support services and transitional housing placement while working with their case manager.
HAVEN has a dedicated pet center available for most animal breeds. Survivors continue to care for their pets during their stay at HAVEN.
